The Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh is seeking an enthusiastic individual to work within their Creative Learning team as part of their full-time paid Internship programme for 10 months. Full-time, 35 hours per week, fixed term for the period end August 2022 until end of July 2023, (exact dates to be confirmed at interview).

The Creative Learning Intern will provide an opportunity for a suitably qualified person to develop a strong participatory arts practice, through a combination of delivery, reflective practice, mentoring, observation, and professional training. The Intern will be expected to assist with the delivery of Lyceum Youth Theatre and 60+ sessions, holiday projects, workshops for schools and community engagement projects. The Intern will have the opportunity to work alongside established theatre practitioners to plan and deliver drama workshops. They will be expected to support the administration of the creative learning programme and liaison with parents/carers. Depending on the year planned there may be opportunities to be an assistant director/director for LYT productions. Practical and legislative professional training will be provided to support an individual’s practice.

The post will require regular evening and weekend work during term time. Whilst they run programmes Monday to Saturday, the role is expected to be Tuesday to Saturday during term time. Candidates must be over 18 years. As this post involves working with Children and Young People the appointments are subject to successful applicants being current members or willing to apply for membership to the PVG scheme.
