The Drama Mill and Mill Youth Theatre are currently seeking a lead drama facilitator. It is essential that the ideal candidate believes in the power of drama to transform young people’s lives. This role requires a creative individual who enjoys working with different age ranges, specifically from 5 – 18 years old. The ideal candidate should thrive on the challenge of devising and creating fun projects and be able to work independently. Their workshops have a student-centered and student-led approach, placing a strong emphasis on creative drama.
The lead drama facilitator will need to have their own transport, as the work is located in East Lothian, which is a 30-40 minute drive from Edinburgh. The role involves blocks of two – five hours after school from Monday – Friday. The fee for this position will be dependent on experience but will between £25 – £32 per hour. There are also plenty of opportunities for work during the holidays.
As part of their expansion plans, they are looking to grow the youth theatre and devise more original work. There are also exciting prospects to participate in fringe festivals and engage in site-responsive and specific projects.
They are always looking to expand their existing projects, so we are seeking freelancers who are eager to be challenged and evolve in their craft. They are particularly interested in facilitators who bring creative flair and really enjoy creating their own work.
