Venue: Online
Prices: Free

Thoughtful use of Audio Description and Alt Text can offer creative possibilities and new perspectives. How can we make the most of accessible technologies to enrich our offers for everyone?

When so much digital content is visual, from images on social media to entire performances captured on video, what can we do to enrich the experience for everyone?

The RNIB explain there are two million blind and partially sighted people in the UK who can enjoy your content if it’s accessible, and there’s an even bigger audience who’ll use words or audio to choose what they engage with, or who want to go deeper.

Thoughtful use of Audio Description (AD) and Alt Text can enrich the experience for everyone, offering creative possibilities and new perspectives. And digital platforms are responding, Bluesky now offers a setting where you can make including alt text a requirement. So how can we make the most of accessible technologies to enrich our offer?

In this webinar they’ll cover:

– Ways in which accessible technologies including audio description and the use of alt text open arts, culture and heritage to wider audiences.
– How these technologies can enhance digital experiences for everyone.
– Practical advice for incorporating audio description into your work.
– Use of alt text and captions to enhance images and graphics.

Speakers:
Zoe Partington: Zoe is a Contemporary Visual Artist, a creative consultant, and the CEO of art agency DaDa

Gav Griffiths: Gav is an audio and accessibility consultant, and an experienced audio engineer.
