The participatory arts team at Macrobert Arts Centre would like to hear from a range of artists of all disciplines with a view to collaboration on participatory projects in 2025 and 2026.
The participatory programme at Macrobert is broad ranging – from regular drama classes for children, to dance classes for older adults, from badge-making at community fairs to very specific developmental projects with community groups. Often their participatory work is delivered in partnership with other voluntary sector organisations.
As a multi-arts centre, the range of art forms they work with is broad, and is sometimes determined by their conversations with participant community groups. Drama, dance, visual arts, crafts, film, audio, writing, photography, fashion and digital arts projects have all, at some point, been leading art-forms in the participatory work. Though their regular participatory work has tended to feature performing arts, they’re not art-form specific.
Whether you’re a drama worker, a dance worker or an expert in macramé – they’d like to hear from you.
They’re looking to speak to artists working in any creative discipline who share our desire to offer people of all backgrounds and ages the opportunity to engage with the arts through participation classes, projects and programmes of work. They welcome artistic innovation and creative activism.
