Minis Course – Suitable for ages 7 – 10
This course is for anyone who is interested in drama, performing and building confidence whilst having fun and making friends. Over the course of four days, participants will work with our skilled practitioners to create an original piece of drama to perform share with family and friends at the end of the week.

Seniors Course – Suitable for ages 14 – 19
This performance course is an opportunity to work as an ensemble on a scripted performance which will be presented on The Lyceum’s main stage at the end of the third week. Led by the Lyceum’s experienced facilitators and supported by a professional Theatre team, you’ll build confidence as a performer and gain acting experience alongside like-minded individuals. This year both the Juniors & Seniors group will perform scenes from Philip Pullman’s Grimm Tales, an amateur production by arrangement with Nick Hern Books, adapted by Philip Wilson, original author Philip Pullman.
Tue 30 June – Saturday 18 July, 10am – 4.30pm each day. Excludes weekends. There will be a later end time of approximately 10pm on Fri 17 July to allow for an evening performance. The performance on Sat 19 July will be a matinee. Exact timings will be confirmed with participants at the beginning of the course.

Juniors Course – Suitable for ages 11 – 13
This performance course is for anyone who is interested in improving their storytelling and performance skills, building confidence and having fun. Production Skills Course – Suitable for ages 14 – 19
Led by a Theatre professional and supported byLyceum staff, this course is for anyone who is interested in working behind the scenes, making it all happen.  The first week will feature practical workshops and activities based on Theatre Production areas to get you learning and making friends. Exact workshops vary each year, but to give you an idea, you might be: 

• Making props for one of the double-bill productions.

• Learning how to rig and operate Theatre lights.

• Completing a costume-sourcing challenge in our Roseburn warehouse.

• Touring the Lyceum or other local Theatre to learn about how it operates and the jobs involved.

• Spending time in double-bill rehearsals and assisting the professional team. 

In the second week, participants will be allocated a role (usually lighting, sound or stage management) on either the Junior or Senior production. You’ll then join rehearsals and take a practical backstage role during the performances.
