#YouthTheatreMakesMe was an online advocacy campaign, mostly across social media, back in 2021, which reached around 52,000 people with the positive impact of youth theatre.
Taking inspiration from campaigns like #NoWrongPath,#MuseumsAreGo or #FreelancersMakeTheatreWork, we wanted to kick-start a discussion online about how the impact youth theatre has on young people’s careers and confidence. We wanted to celebrate youth theatres returning to their usual activities throughout 2021, and also highlight that some had never been away during the COVID-19 pandemic.
We asked youth theatres to join in and share their own stats, and provided examples of the sorts of things we were going to be saying on the day, to give them some inspiration to write their own.
