It will help you:
– Nurture your spontaneous, playful side
– Get you ‘out of your head’ and into your body
– Learn a set of physical skills you can use to inhabit any character
– Develop your voice skills for acting and life
– Discover the pleasure and power of successful group work
– Gain a unique insight into a range of collaborative theatre skills
– Take more risks in a safe, supportive and structured environment
– Find depth, pleasure and freedom in your acting

Each week there will be playful yet powerful exercises involving voice, movement, games and improvisations. These workshops will unite performance skills, bringing together the voice, body and imagination using a mixture of script work and material created in groups.

The core work will embrace structured professional techniques and focus on space, story, gesture, emotion and movement to build up your personal strength as an actor and your ability to work creatively with others in a team. They will take our inspiration from renowned practitioners such as Cicely Berry, Viola Spolin, Augusto Boal, Jacques Lecoq and Complicité and use Viewpoints as a powerful rehearsal tool.

Fees: £145 (+ Eventbrite fee). Special concessionary rate available for those on a low income for whom cost would be a barrier and Equity members £125 (+ Eventbrite fee).
