CLOWN: PLAYING WITH TRAGEDY
9 December 2023, 10.30am – 4pm
Tragedy is an opportunity for the Clown to play on a grand scale, to find truthful ways to play with great emotions but not to undermine them. There is irreverence but no parody. In dire circumstances, the clown finds playfulness and beauty in tragedy.

Gerry Flanagan moved to Scotland last year. He is Artistic Director of Shifting Sands Theatre founded to create and tour clown theatre that is both comic and moving. Gerry has been performing, teaching and directing Clown for over 30 years.

Fee for all three workshops: £150 / *Early Bird £120 if paid by 11 November 2023.
