Glasgow Connected Arts Network CiC: Sustainability & Fundraising Training Workshop

Venue: Online
Prices: £10 for GCAN members / £12 for non-members / free for under 25’s

An affordable two hour workshop to learn how to secure funding and improve the overall sustainability of your work in a challenging climate.

Thu 27 October 2022, 10am – 12 noon on Zoom.

It is increasingly difficult for one person or a small group of people within an organisation to be responsible for sustainability and securing funding. It is a worrying time for arts companies at the moment with rising costs, and growing pressure to bring more funds in.

Glasgow Connected Arts Network CiC’s Sustainability and Fundraising Workshop facilitator Hannah Justad has over 12 years’ experience of securing funds for arts organisations. She has managed two arts organisations in her career and has sustained a freelance practice in Participatory Arts for nearly 20 years. Deciding who is responsible for securing funding within an organisation can be a challenge when staff and volunteers are under pressure and have a delivery remit as well as funding.

This training workshop will help attendees make some difficult decisions and decide who within the organisation should be taking responsibility for sustainability and, if it is time to shift responsibility or bring someone additional in for support. Attendees will start planning, and explore various fundraising avenues and how to meet their criteria. By coming along attendees will get tips as to how to put together a good quality application to a Trust or Foundation, and the value of building relationships with funders. This workshop is suitable for whoever has funding within their work remit such as Managers, Board Members, Volunteers or Core Staff.
