Led by artist Heather Marshall, Hidden Door x Creative Electric welcome you to this practical workshop and discussion that explores the impact of rejection when working as an artist and how to turn that into something positive. These sessions will look at the importance of rest and recovery, how to receive feedback as part of a rejection and use it constructively in your future work as well as knowing when to say goodbye to an idea.

Throughout the workshop participants will work together to develop a sculptural work that explores shame which will be exhibited as part of Hidden Door 2025. Participants are encouraged to bring project ideas that they are keen to develop that have previously been rejected by funders or arts organisations and will have the opportunity to explore their future potential with Heather, including identifying appropriate future support, funding opportunities and mentoring.
