One of their most requested topics, this online learning event from Creative Lives will provide an introductory session for creative groups who are considering formalising their structure, including drafting a constitution and becoming a charity – which is often a prerequisite for funders.

This session will cover the basics of what you need to know when writing your first constitution, and will improve understanding of the considerations for registering as a charity.

It will be delivered by Lynn Cadman, of Illuminate Governance, who has worked in and with the voluntary sector for over 19 years – at the Charity Commission, as an in-house expert and as a freelance trainer and governance consultant. Lynn has advised charities of all shapes and sizes, including supporting organisations to formalise and register as new charities.

Testimonials from a previous Creative Lives event run by Lynn:

  • “It was very helpful and really well delivered, thank you.”
  • “Thank you so much – very informative.”
