Part of their three-year pilot programme, Resilient Theatres: Resilient Communities, this webinar on Wed 13 November 2024 (12 noon – 1pm webinar; 1pm – 1.30pm Q&A) will highlight the different ways theatres can approach or enhance their approach to individual giving.

You’ll hear from fundraising consultant David Burgess who is currently delivering bespoke training to a small cohort of Theatres at Risk, as part of Resilient Theatres: Resilient Communities. David will share his top tips for increasing donations from individuals including how to identify your audience and what motivates them, when membership schemes work well and when they don’t, and tips for making a compelling philanthropic ask.

They will also be joined by Thea Partridge of Ethical Good who will provide an overview of crowdfunding. Thea will talk about the different ways theatres can crowdfund, its benefits, how to set up a crowdfunding campaign and what you need to make your campaign a success.

Finally, we will hear from Sarah Ruff from Rose Theatre in Kingston upon Thames about its new strategy to re-ignite individual giving. As one of the largest independent non-commercial producing theatres in London, Rose Theatre attracts over 150,000 people every year. As an independent theatre that receives less than 5% of income from statutory sources, growing individual giving has become an urgent and crucial part of the organisation’s strategy and Sarah will talk about this in more detail.

Using case studies and practical tips, this webinar aims to highlight the different ways theatres can approach or enhance their approach to individual giving. It will provide an introductory overview of individual giving and will be suitable for theatre professionals at all levels and with varying degrees of knowledge or experience of fundraising.
