Puppetry for Contemporary Theatre

Venue: Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, 100 Renfrew Street, Glasgow, G2 3DB
Prices: £180

Led by experienced theatre practitioner Gavin Glover, this intensive hands-on workshop is designed for those who wish to expand their skill set and become familiar in the use of the various different puppetry techniques used in contemporary theatre.

The workshop will explore how to manipulate a variety of puppets by encouraging them to walk, run, jump and sometimes fall over. Discover how puppets can apparently have feelings, reactions and even a sense of humour. It will ask to what extent a puppet can perform theatrically and whether it can be as expressive as the actor sharing the stage with it.
