An online workshop on building your online presence to support your professional acting career and leveraging social media for casting opportunities.
“These days, if you’re an actor, you have to be on social media.” If you’ve heard this before by casting directors and aren’t sure where to start, this is the workshop for you. This online class is for performers who are interested in growing their social media presence, learning up-to-date best practice, and leveraging your social media for opportunities.
Many actors have social media, but a large number are not using it correctly. Whether to gain exposure, earn an income or leverage as a tool in casting or booking gigs, this workshop will get you started. One of the first of its kind in the UK, the workshop was developed in response to the growing demands for a social media presence in the various sectors of the creative industries. Led and designed by Brian Maitland, alumni of the RCS and founder of Actors & Social Media, this course aims to teach students a general overview of social media.
The session will cover:
– An introduction to digital marketing; -Actors as content creators;
– Personal branding;
– Online community management and networking;
– Online safety and career preservation;
– Technical requirements for social media.
There will also be an opportunity for discussions and questions before and after the main seminar. This one-off workshop will be taught online and you can take part from the comfort of your own home from anywhere in the world.
