SPRINGBOARD Local Assembly – Montrose

Venue: The Montrose Playhouse, Montrose, DD10 8NN
Prices: Free

Culture for Climate Scotland is working with partners to deliver a local assembly for creative climate action.

Tue 13 May 9.30am – 1pm • The Montrose Playhouse, Montrose, DD10 8NN

SPRINGBOARD brings together artists, cultural and sustainability organisations, climate workers, activists, local businesses, third-sector organisations and anyone interested in collaborating to form powerful local networks for creative climate action. Local assemblies are an opportunity to connect with other practitioners in your region to address climate change collectively.

At the Montrose assembly, they are working Angus Climate Hub, Montrose LandxSea Film Festival and artist Eve Mosher. The event will focus on creative responses to coastal erosion in Montrose. The morning will centre shared local knowledge, collective imagination and practical pathways for collaboration.

The assembly is for anyone working or volunteering in the climate or environmental sector, the arts, screen, creative industries, museums, heritage and libraries.

Culture for Climate Scotland encourages and equips individuals, organisations and strategic bodies to harness the role of culture in achieving the transformational change to an environmentally sustainable Scotland.

Angus Climate Hub supports and connects local people and groups to take meaningful climate action across the region. Funded by the Scottish Government and hosted by Montrose Community Trust, the Hub shares skills, resources and inspiration to help Angus thrive.

Eve Mosher is an artist who works at the intersection of climate change and imagination. She is developing tools of imagination and creativity to help communities tell their own story of tomorrow.

Montrose LandxSea Film Festival is Scotland’s environmental film festival, using storytelling and the arts to spark dialogue and inspire action on climate and nature. They host year-round events and an annual September festival at the Montrose Playhouse.
