Join YTAS and PACE for a New Year Swap Shop, and what could be better than a youth theatre Games Exchange? Every practitioner’s bread and butter! Hosted by YTAS’s own Emma, join us for a fun refresher for your warm-up games.
Running regular workshops with young people involves keeping things exciting and keeping them engaged. We all know that the games we use to start our workshops are integral to our practice but it’s so easy to get stuck delivering the same ones over and over again.
In this two-hour Swap Shop, practitioners will spend the time experiencing games from colleagues and leading the group through your favourites. You should come prepared to share and participate. You might come away with a list of new activities, a refresh on the games you’ve forgotten, or learn some new twists on the classics!
The YTAS sector training programme is supported by funding from the Gannochy Trust and Creative Scotland.
Who is it for?
Practitioners: For those on the front line of creative delivery. Training that is for ‘practitioners’ is for anyone who engages directly with young people in the creative process.
Freelancers: For those of you who are braving it on your own. Training for ‘freelancers’ will be spaces designed to investigate the unique challenges that come from working contractually for multiple organisations.
About the trainer
This session will be hosted by YTAS’s own Emma. With a decade’s experience in youth theatre settings and an incredibly competitive streak when it comes to elimination games, be prepared to play, and play hard!
We at YTAS are aware of the current financial struggles that the sector is facing. We would like to remind you that bursaries are available to any YTAS Member who requires financial support in order to attend one of our training courses, and will cover any fees associated with the training.
