The PCS Wellness Project- Participant Call Out

Venue: Studio Theatre, Moffat
Prices: Free

Are you a creative person or freelance artist from or with a connection to the Dumfries and Galloway region?
Would you like some guidance on managing your wellbeing?

Performance Collective Stranraer is seeking creatives aged 16-30 to take part in their PCS Wellness Project, a series of wellness workshops involving yoga, therapeutic theatre, and creativity sessions.

WHAT THEY ARE OFFERING
The aim of these workshops is to support the health and wellbeing of artists, by developing skills and coping mechanisms to actively develop our own self-care practices.

The yoga aspect of these workshops will be led by certified Yoga instructor, Hannah Leach, who trained at Yoga Meditation & Healing, Glasgow, accredited by Yoga Alliance Professionals. Through a blend of Vinyasa, Hatha & Ashtanga yoga, this section will help participants improve their physical strength and balance, while alleviating anxiety and tension.

The therapeutic theatre and creativity sessions will be led by Kate Stevens who is a student member of the British Association of Drama Therapists and the Master’s Programme at Queen Margaret University. This section aims to help participants develop positive coping mechanisms and increase insight into how they overcome personal and professional obstacles.

These workshops will allow artists to connect and meet like-minded individuals. There will be a group lunch, and a relaxed crafting activity, where participants can be creative and make some art!

WHERE AND WHEN?
This session will be taking place on Sat 20 April 2024 at the Studio Theatre, Moffat. These sessions will cost nothing to participants with your travel and food free of charge. Though they aim to ensure artists arrive by car, we can also provide travel information for those using public transport.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Artists between the ages of 16-30 from Dumfries & Galloway and Ayrshire or those with a connection to the region. These sessions are open for artists from any creative background. Application Deadline – Mon 8 April 2024, 5pm

HOW TO APPLY?
• A short statement under 200 words on your interest in the workshop and why you would benefit from it.
• Evidence of your passion for the creative arts ie a CV, a video or written testimony, photographic documentation, etc
Please send these to Sarah Rose Graber at sarahrose@performancecollectivestranraer.com.
