Are you care experienced and aged 14-30? Interested in theatre, drama and writing for performance?
Join Moniack Mhor this Summer 2024 for This is the Thing…, a. exciting project exploring the craft of playwriting. You’ll be tutored during the week by Chris Thorpe and Tanuja Amarasuriya.
Chris and Tanuja will take responsibility for the process, providing suggestions, exciting tasks, discussion and perspective: “We’ll shape what you produce into something that starts to look like a show, leaving you free to explore ideas and collaborate without any worries about where we’re headed.”
Following the July residential week, you have the option to come back together online to keep building on the work you have created with Chris and Tanuja.
Then in October 2024, you might choose to return to Moniack Mhor for an optional sharing of work alongside our songwriting and poetry participants, who are part of the wider Creativity and Care Residencies programme.
THIS PROJECT INCLUDES:
WRITE
- Sun 7 – Fri 12 July 2024: Writing and exploration week at Moniack Mhor with Chris Thorpe and Tanuja Amarasuriya. You will arrive on Sun 7 2024 and depart the morning of Fri 12 July. This will include individual writing time, group workshops and optional one-to-one tutorials.
DEVELOP
- Between July-October 2024: Join Chris and fellow participants online for optional one-to-one and group script development time.
SHARE
- October (dates TBC): You may choose to come back to Moniack Mhor for a sharing of work.
- All food, accommodation and workshops are provided.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?:
- Have a keen interest in theatre/writing for performance, but not necessarily have previous experience.
- Fill in a simple form (on their website), or chat to their team about why you want to do the course.
- Give them a few key details so that we can support you through your playwriting journey.
- Places are secured on a first come, first served basis. If you are interested in participating but there are no places left, please get in touch and they will add you to the waiting list.
