A short session with Barry Haughey where you can find out more about running Virtual Reality (VR) activities for young people and hosting a youth work session in a VR space.
This online workshop offers youth workers an introductory look at how virtual reality (VR) can be used to enhance youth engagement. Aimed at those interested in exploring emerging technologies, the session will highlight how VR is being used to reach a broader demographic, including young people with ASD, physical disabilities, and varied learning needs. Participants will gain insight into how this powerful and accessible tool is helping youth organisations future-proof their provision and create more inclusive, innovative experiences for teens and young adults.
The session will be led by Barry Haughey, a digital artist with over 30 years of creative practice and a youth worker with more than 20 years in the sector. As the founder of HoloGen, Barry has been at the forefront of integrating emerging technologies into youth work, with projects in the UK, EU and US using immersive tools like VR to inspire, connect, and empower young people from all backgrounds.
