Are you ready to join forces with the brightest and most innovative minds in Glasgow’s Creative industries? Glasgow Connected Arts Network are calling all artists, writers, designers, musicians, broadcasters, actors, filmmakers, activists and creatives working across Glasgow to come together and help them shape the future of their organisation. This is a pivotal time as they stand on the threshold of greater things.
This is more than just your average brainstorming session. They’re not just looking for your ideas – we want to hear your opinions, experiences and insights into what is working well and what hasn’t in the past in terms of practical support for Glasgow’s creatives. You might already be pondering it with pals, or saying “if only” with colleagues. They’ll be asking you to help us establish what matters most as we move forward. Of course, this will all require brain fuel, so we’ll be providing you with lots of refreshments as we go.
But that’s not all – they’re also looking to expand their membership offering to include a wider range (as many as 16) creative and cultural industries in Glasgow. That means they need your help to identify new opportunities and activities that will benefit our growing community. Perhaps you are pals with a producer, publisher or poet? They expressly invite you to bring along someone you know so we can encapsulate a broad spectrum of voices. They don’t have all the answers but they believe the community does. And as we move towards a more digital world, they’ll also be exploring how we can improve their online services and interactions.
So bring your best ideas and your most creative friends to one of the four ‘What’s Next’ interactive development sessions. There are two drop-in daytime and two evening sessions to accommodate even the busiest schedules with free lunch and dinner provided. And don’t worry – they’re not just going to take your ideas and run. They’re committed to gathering all input and having a dedicated online event for presenting the outcomes, with exciting key industry guest speakers, and will credit individuals for their contributions whilst keeping everyone in the loop.
Let’s work together to establish a new offering for Glasgow’s creative and cultural industries. Are you in?
What will they explore? Together, we’ll take a look at three key areas of development. These are:
- A review of what our offer has been so far and what is working well / not well. You can help us prioritise what we do, and make suggestions for new services.
- Determining how to increase our range of membership offering and activities to include people working across Glasgow’s wider creative industries. You can have your say on what opportunities this should and will include.
- How to improve digital interaction and the services we can offer people online.
Timings Sessions will take place on Tue 23 and Wed 24 May 2023. There will be two sessions on each day, these will run 11am – 2pm and 5.30pm – 8.30pm
Each session will have a short break in the middle, around half way through. It would be ideal if you could stay for the entire session, but we know people are juggling lots of other commitments so please drop in / out as required.
