A week long program in October 2024 for young people aged 15-18 years old who are interested in working in the theatre industry.
Learn from industry professionals about what it takes to get into roles such as costume, wigs, hair & make up, technical production, front of house, acting & directing etc. Participants will get the chance to experience these job roles in practical workshops, talks, Q&As as well as a chance to see live theatre and hands-on work experience. This week falls alongside The Book of Mormon visit to Edinburgh Playhouse so the young people will get the chance to see the show as well as hear from some of the production team working behind the scenes.
The aim of this week is to inspire the next generation of theatre makers and artists to explore careers and get a further understanding of the pathways into theatre. They want to showcase the talent that can happen on our stages, behind the scenes and what goes into creating a show or running a theatre.
This course gives a great idea about how many roles and jobs there are in the industry and how many pathways there are to do it.
