At 2050 Climate Group, they’re on a mission to empower young people to take action against the climate crisis. This year, their 2023 Youth Climate Summit will facilitate a Moment for a Movement for Scotland’s young people.
Young people have driven the climate movement – we’ve come a long way, and we still have a long way to go. The 2023 Summit will take a moment to recognise where we are and look forward to where we need to go next. It will inspire action through stories and knowledge sharing, galvanise young people through capacity building, and build a community for young people to come together, connect and network. Participants will leave feeling inspired, connected, and energised to continue to take collective action and drive the climate movement.
What to expect
The day will be jam packed full of thought provoking sessions ranging from panel discussions and guest speakers to interactive workshops and exhibitions. Throughout the day you’ll hear from and engage with experts, campaigners and young people across a range of backgrounds and sectors connected to Scotland’s climate movement. The Youth Climate Summit is aimed at young people aged 18-35, but absolutely anyone who is interested is welcome to attend.
The day will run from 10am – 5pm, with lunch provided. The full agenda will be revealed in the lead up to the event, but we guarantee plenty of opportunities to learn about, interact with and contribute to climate action in Scotland.
From 5pm, they’ll wind down with a drinks reception, giving time to connect with speakers, volunteers and attendees. This will be followed by an (optional) informal social at a nearby location for those who would like to continue to mingle.
Optional donation
They strive to ensure 2050 Climate Group events are open and accessible to all young people and therefore the Summit is free to attend. They are a small but mighty charity and their work is predominantly delivered by a team of dedicated volunteers. If you have the means and would like to support 2050 Climate Group, there is an option to donate towards your ticket. They appreciate donations of any size to allow us to continue supporting young people to take climate action across Scotland.
