One of the most exciting things about youth theatre is being able to have a space to belong, be free and play! That's what I love to bring to my youth theatre sessions. My background: - During my university studies in 2015, a few of my peers and I set up The Regal Youth Company in Bathgate. Throughout it's 5 years of running I have learned first hand the rewarding nature of running a volunteer youth company, with all of it's highs and lows! We have devised, collaborated and created together and I am happy to still be involved as a freelancer. - Trained with Frantic Assembly in 2017 on a residency for young people in London. - Graduated from QMU with BA(Hons) Drama and Performance 1st Class, specialising in contemporary performance, devising and physical theatre and community theatre and ethics in socially engaged art. - Currently, I am a member of the National Youth Theatre after training on their Epic Stages course in 2019. What I love to bring to my youth theatre sessions: - MOVEMENT & PHYSICAL THEATRE: devising through movement, playing with qualities of movement and text, and movement direction. - DEVISING & STORYTELLING: creating stories, narratives and performances which are created collaboratively as an ensemble - stories which are uniquely theirs. - CREATING SPACE TO FAIL: failure has a huge through line through the process of theatre-making - we celebrate trial and error, no idea is a bad idea, and when we fail we learn and grow!
Notable productions: 'Project 404' - The Regal Youth Company, co-director. Performed at NFYT 2017. FYT NT Connections 'The Changing Room' - Movement and Choreography.
