Aberdeen Performing Arts have an exciting freelance opportunity to contribute towards the successful delivery of Light the Blue 2024, Aberdeen’s fantastic multi-artform festival celebrating the creativity of young people.
This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of festival programming, planning, administration and delivery. This role would be ideal for a passionate and creative individual with an interest in developing skills across key areas of festival management and project delivery. They will work with the successful candidate to identify particular areas of interest and tailor the role to best support the Assistant Producer in developing their practice.
About the Role
The Assistant Producer will be engaged on a freelance basis for 40 days across the project from 19 February – 21 June 2024, anticipated to be broken down as:
• One day per week in February
• Two days per week in March, April and May
• 12 days in June (3 – 16 June)
You will work across Aberdeen Performing Arts venues with scope for remote working at various points across the project. The fee is £5000 (£125 per day for 40 days).
About You
This role would be ideal for someone who is passionate about the arts and interested in developing their skills in festival and event management. Due to the nature of the festival, they are particularly interested in hearing from early career candidates who are looking to take the next step in their journey to working in the arts/events/festivals and who have an interest in working with young people or engaging with young audiences.
