Creative Assistants sought:

Junior Youth Theatre • Thursday 6.15pm – 8.30pm
Beats and Rhymes music making workshops • Thursday 6.15pm – 8pm
Early Years Music making workshops • Saturday 9.45am – 1pm

The Creative Assistant role is ideally suited to someone with an interest in the role the arts play in offering opportunities to children and young people to explore and develop their creativity and to connect with the arts. This is a development opportunity for someone who is wishing to gain more knowledge, skills and experience working in the arts with children and young people.

Key Responsibilities include:
• Supporting the lead practitioner in delivering and evaluating workshops.
• Managing basic administration tasks, such as keeping the register.
• Helping to ensure the wellbeing, health and safety of all workshop participants.
• Helping to ensure Aberdeen Performing Arts’ child protection policy is adhered to.
• Meeting and greeting children, young people and parents and accompanying participants to and from the studio.
• Assisting with setting and tidying up.

You will be interested in the arts and the important role they play in supporting children and young people achieve their full potential, have experience of participating in arts activities, have a commitment to equality and inclusion, be organised and reliable with effective communication skills, be keen to learn new skills and open to training opportunities where appropriate, be enthusiastic, motivated and willing to be part of a hard-working team, and will be required to undertake a satisfactory PVG check.

Additionally, the Creative Assistant for Junior Youth Theatre should have good availability during early to mid-June, for Light the Blue rehearsals and performances. Light The Blue is an annual festival for and by young people https://www.aberdeenperformingarts.com/light-the-blue/.
