Aberdeen Performing Arts are looking for live performance material for young audiences to be presented as part of Light The Blue festival in June 2023.
Light The Blue is a multi-artform festival celebrating the creativity of young people aged 5-25, taking place across Aberdeen from 10 – 18 June 2023.
Alongside our programme of youth-led performances, they’re looking for professional work made for young audiences. They’re particularly interested in hearing from artists based in/around Aberdeen and the North East, but will also consider proposals from across Scotland and the UK.
They’re interested in (but not limited to):
– theatre, dance, movement, music and circus work
– pop-up and promenade performances
– studio shows
– work for young audiences aged 5-12
– work for teenage audiences
– unconventional material/approaches
– interactive material
– interdisciplinary material
There’s no set theme for the festival – they’re simply looking for inspirational and exciting work that engages young audiences and participants. Programmed events will take place in the Lemon Tree and Music Hall as well as other indoor and outdoor locations across the city.
All artists programmed as part of our professional programme will be paid appropriate fees and expenses. They will also consider proposals for workshops and other engagement activity.
