Barrowland Ballet is in search of two male performers aged 13-17 years old to take part in Wee Man, an all-male dance theatre performance taking place in Glasgow. They are looking for physical performers – you do not need any previous dance experience but a passion about being creative and an enthusiasm for being part of this dance project.
Led by award-winning choreographer Natasha Gilmore, Wee Man is a highly physical and dynamic performance piece exploring the theme of coming of age – physical risks, youthful exuberance, wisdom, guidance and fear. This is a collaborative project with all participants involved in the creation of the choreography, text and music included in the final production.
The performance will be accompanied by a specially commissioned sound-score created with composer Luke Sutherland and text created with poet Kevin Gilday. The full cast will include six men and six young male performers aged 13-17 years old.
