Chair – Toonspeak Young People’s Theatre

Closing date: Thu 31 Mar 2022: 5pm

Toonspeak are recruiting for a voluntary Board Chair person.

Toonspeak is a Youth led Arts organisation based in Glasgow working with young people aged 0-25. Toonspeak’ mission is to support, nurture, connect, inspire, transform and progress children & young people in Glasgow.

Their activities include theatre, music, writing, technical production, arts & crafts, creative careers coaching, and events production. All activities are provided at zero cost, with free transport and food provided where needed to meet their commitment to absolute equality of access. Working in areas of multiple deprivation, and supporting young people who face additional challenges, the aim of their activities is to enable young people to realise their potential, becoming leaders and beneficiaries of the arts, as practitioners, participants and audience members.

Award nominated for their COVID Response and Recovery Programmes and now undertaking our biggest piece of work as part of the National Culture Collective Programme, 2022 looks to be an incredible milestone year for Toonspeak as they also celebrate 35 years of operating.

Toonspeak is now looking to recruit a Chair to lead the Board of Directors and support the staff team as they emerge from COVID and into 2022. This is a voluntary role.
