Are you passionate about shaping the future of theatre in Scotland? Creative Scotland is looking for an inspirational and confident Head of Theatre to join their committed and knowledgeable team. As Head of Theatre, you will lead their remit in developing and supporting the theatre sector in Scotland through funding, advocacy and partnership-building at local, national and international levels.
Key Responsibilities:
– Build and maintain strategic partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including multi-art form organisations, to support collaborative development across the arts.
– Shape strategic direction to help Creative Scotland unlock new opportunities for artists – locally, nationally and internationally.
– Manage and motivate a team of Theatre Officers fostering a positive culture of communication, delivery and professional development.
– Design, manage and evaluate projects and funding programmes, including overseeing budgets and conducting assessments.
– Review and assess funding applications and theatre projects, proving clear recommendations.
– Lead and support initiatives across theatre programmes, ensuring alignment with sector priorities and Creative Scotland’s strategic goals.
– Represent Creative Scotland at stakeholder meetings, public forums, and sector events, acting as a key ambassador for the organisation.
They are seeking someone with:
– Extensive experience in the theatre sector, with a deep understanding of artistic practice, producing, touring and artist development.
– Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, along with demonstrable leadership and people management experience.
– A strategic and innovative mindset, with strong decision-making skills and a proven ability to work collaboratively.
– A strong commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, ensuring these values are embedded in all aspects of their work.
Grade: D
Salary: Salary Range: £48,527 to £60,441 pa plus pension and benefits
Contract: Full time (35 hours per week)
