Cutting Edge Theatre works primarily with disabled people of all ages and they are looking for a dynamic, fun-loving Drama Assistant to work with their Kirkcaldy-based INSPIRE class for learning disabled people.
The participants all identify as being learning disabled with different access requirements and support needs, which should be taken into consideration when assisting with sessions. The post holder will be expected to ensure effective support for participants undertaking creative drama workshops and also to work with the Drama Tutor to maintain a high quality, safe environment at all times.
As Drama Assistant you will:
- Support the participants in the group and aid their learning
- Support the Drama Tutor in the running of the group
- Be involved in the practical arrangements for the group
- Be part of the planning and delivery of classes if required
- Liaising with parents and carers of the participants as required
- Running registration, warmup and drama exercises
This position would suit someone who has drama experience and who wants to work in this sector. Previous experience of working with disabled people is an advantage but not a requirement.
Location: Adam Smith Theatre, Kirkcaldy, Fife
Hours: 2pm-4pm on Thursdays (term-time)
Salary: £20/hr (two hours per week)
Contract: Freelance
