This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, HCPC registered Dramatherapist to establish & deliver the brand new, pioneering Family Dramatherapy Service at Dundee Rep & Scottish Dance Theatre.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• Provide a creative therapy service for families as part of the DRSDT Engage programme of work
• Full case by case assessment to determine the most appropriate intervention for each family, with creative interventions designed and planned to be person-centred, & communicated openly with the family & referral partners
• Deliver individual, group, dyadic/family sessions in accordance with identified need
• Follow appropriate evaluation procedures, including collection of client feedback
• Liaise with education providers, social services & other health professionals where necessary &/or appropriate
• Deliver workshop sessions within the Rep & external organisations to support mental & emotional wellbeing & promote the dramatherapy service
• Work in partnership with representatives from Dundee City Council, which will include but is not exhaustive of the following:
– Attending monitoring meetings
– Timely and accurate reporting on the service
– Adhering to service specifications as set out and agreed in the service contract
• Practice in accordance with the HCPC Standards of Proficiency & the BADth Code of Ethics and Code of Practice
• Work with the Associate Directors (Engage) to maintain & articulate a clear vision for the development of the Family Dramatherapy provision within the Rep
• Fully engage with the wider sector, attending meetings and developing key relationships across the city and beyond
• Keep abreast of developments & requirements as set out by the HCPC, Care Inspectorate, Dundee City Council & other statutory bodies
• Maintain & update accurate records of all work undertaken, including the collection of appropriate statistics & the completion of routine administrative tasks
• Promote, publicise & represent work of DRSDT Engage in the field of mental health & in particular the Family Dramatherapy Service
• Be self-servicing & administer the dramatherapy service including the maintenance of workload, evaluation & administrative procedures
• Offer advice & support to other Engage staff members in the planning & execution of events & projects; specifically those involving vulnerable young people who are experiencing mental health & emotional difficulties
• Offer training opportunities &, where feasible, provide in-house training to other staff & volunteers
Annual Salary of £37,831 (NHS Band 6)
