As part of Eden Court’s 50th anniversary in 2026, they are looking to commission a 10-15 minute piece of performance to form part of a promenade production.
Audiences will be led on an immersive journey through the building, encountering multi-disciplinary performances in spaces they would not ordinarily get to see. They are commissioning a 10 – 15 minute solo or duo performance to form part of a larger production of five new works spanning theatre, music, dance and more. They welcome proposals that reflect the rich cultural landscape of the Highlands and at least one piece within the programme will be performed in Gaelic.
For five decades, Eden Court has been a meeting point – a place where artists, audiences, cultures, languages and ideas flow together. Situated in the Highlands, where rivers, communities and traditions meet and intersect, Eden Court serves as a gathering place that continually reshapes what creativity can be.
To mark this milestone anniversary, they invite artists to help us honour that legacy of connection while imagining the new confluences that might emerge over the next fifty years. The theme guiding all commissioned work is CONFLUENCE: a coming together of two bodies of water, or people, or ideas. We encourage artists to explore this theme in any way that resonates with their practice.
They look forward to receiving proposals that respond to CONFLUENCE with imagination, curiosity and ambition.
The commission fee is £2050. It will form part of a larger production that includes production budget, rehearsal fees and technical support.
