Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society: Community Engagement, Access & Learning Assistant

Pay: £12 per hour
Closing date: Mon 4 Mar 2024: 10am

Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society are seeking to appoint an experienced individual to work across the Community Engagement, Access and Learning team to provide administrative and practical support with a variety of projects.

The Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society was founded by artists to nurture and uphold the Fringe’s values of inclusivity, experimentation and imagination. They exist to support, advise and encourage everyone who wants to participate in the Fringe, provide information and assistance to audiences, and celebrate the Fringe and what it stands for all over the world.

This role is part of the Community Engagement, Access and Learning (CEAL) team. The CEAL team works to address the gap between the ambition of the Fringe to be an inclusive and accessible festival for all and the reality of the multiple barriers that prevent participation. They do this through a mixture of long-term strategic work, and shorter-term project work. The work addresses the specific barriers that make the festival inaccessible to many people. This role is managed by the CEAL Manager.

The CEAL Assistant will work across the CEAL team with the Community Engagement Officer, Community Events Officer, Learning Officer and Access Projects Officer to provide administrative and practical support with a variety of projects.

Rate of pay: £12 per hour
4.5% employer pension contribution
34 days holiday (inclusive of six bank holidays) pro rata
Flexible working culture
Employee assistance programme

Normal working hours in the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society are 35 hours worked between 9am – 6pm, Monday to Friday, and your hours should fit within this schedule. From 1 August your working days will be rostered, to ensure a member of the CEAL team is available seven days a week. However, occasional weekend working in June, July and August are highly likely. There is no overtime entitlement, but the Society does maintain a TOIL policy for additional hours worked.
