Fair Access at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (RCS) are delighted to announce that applications for their Access Courses, starting in July 2026, are now open. These courses are free and financial support is available for travelling and other associated course costs.

If you are aged 17 – 25, meet their Fair Access criteria, and are passionate about studying at the RCS, this could be for you.

These part-time courses provide high quality training for students interested in studying on the following degree programmes at RCS:

– Arts with Community
– Bachelor of Education (Music)
– Production Arts and Design
– Production Technology and Management

The courses are structured to sit alongside school, college or work and are delivered using a mixture of in person and online teaching. They help students develop practical skills to improve their artform, take part in regular training and audition and interview preparation, receive expert advice which helps navigate the UCAS system, personal statement writing and the audition/interview process.

Who can apply
To be eligible for our Fair Access activity you need to be aged 17 – 25 and from a Fair Access background, which means meeting one of the following criteria:

– You are living in an SIMD20 or SIMD40 postcode*
– You are care experienced
– You are estranged and receiving no support from family (whether biological or adoptive or wider family members)

* Where spaces are limited we will prioritise applications from people living in SIMD20 postcodes.
