Falkirk Youth Theatre are seeking to engage an experienced Musical Director to work on the production of Hades Town Teen Edition with their senior group (ages 11-18) from March – November 2026.
The post holder will be responsible for
• Attending weekly sessions to teach vocal technique and musical numbers to young people
• Liaising with a production team to ensure a cohesive artistic vision
• Attending all rehearsals and performances
• Creating a positive working environment of mutual respect for all parties
• Having the musical numbers ready for performance by w/c 2 November 2026
Dates and Times:
Sundays 2026, 1pm-4pm in Grangemouth Town Hall (unless otherwise stated)
Term 2
1 & 8 March
19 & 26 April
10, 17, 24 & 31 May
7, 14 & 21 June
Fee – £990 (based on £30 per hour x three hours per week, 11 week term)
Term 3
16, 23 & 30 August
13, 20 & 27 September
4 October
Fee – £630 (based on £30 per hour x three hours per week, 7 week term)
Term 4
25 October
1, 3 (Tech), 4 (Dress 1), 6 (Dress 2), 7 (Shows 1 & 2), 8 November (Show 3)
Fee – £180 (based on £30 per hour x three hours per week, two week term
Show Fee – £700 (Tue – Sun calls)
You will be required at all of these rehearsals and performances
Total Fee Payable: £2,500
Person specification:
• Relevant qualification in Music
• Proven experience in working with young people
• Proven experience in MD role for medium to large scale theatre productions
• ability to work individually and as part of a team
• ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines
• a genuine interest and passion for the role of Youth Theatre
• full clean driving license preferred
