Falkirk Youth Theatre are seeking to engage an experienced Musical Director to work on the production of Godspell with their senior group (S1 –S6) in April – November 2023.
This is a freelance position for someone with proven experience and passion for working in Youth Theatre, and the ability to MD a main stage production whilst developing the skills and confidence of young people.
The post holder will be responsible for:
• Attending weekly sessions to teach vocal technique and musical numbers to young people
• Liaising with a production team to ensure a cohesive artistic vision
• Attending all rehearsals and performances
• Creating a positive working environment of mutual respect for all parties
• Applicants for Godspell will be responsible for the recruitment of a live band who they will conduct during the performances.
• Attendance at all performances is essential
Rehearsals: Sundays, 1pm-4pm, in Grangemouth • April – November 2023

Person Specification
• Relevant qualification in Music
• Proven experience in working with young people
• Proven experience in MD role for large scale theatre productions
• ability to work individually and as part of a team
• ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines
• a genuine interest and passion for the role of Youth Theatre
• Full clean driving license preferred
