Creative Scotland is pleased to offer practitioners working in the performing arts in Scotland bursaries to attend upcoming international network events in Aarhus, Denmark and Manchester.
They are offering bursaries towards the costs of attending the IETM Plenary or the ISPA Congress. This can be used towards travel, accommodation, tickets for performances, per diems and registration fees. As these are fixed bursaries, they are just asking for a summary budget of your costs to attend and any other income you may have in place. It is expected that these act as a contribution, rather than cover the entire cost of attendance.
Bursary award levels: IETM: £500 I ISPA: £1,150
Please note that the difference in value is due to the differing levels of registration fee and Bursaries are awarded on the basis of attendance / registration for the full programme and not single day attendance. ISPA registration is based on a discounted rate which is not visible on the ISPA website. Successful applicants will be given a code to use.
PERSONAL ACCESS COSTS
If you are deaf, disabled, neurodivergent, have a long-term illness or chronic health condition you may have additional costs relating to your own access needs, in order to attend these events. Personal access costs are treated separately to your main budget and so they will ask you to provide these separately, along with a short narrative to tell they what the costs will support. Please note that these costs are provided in addition to the fixed bursary payment.
WHO CAN APPLY?
• Artists, producers and creative practitioners based in Scotland
• Artists, producers and creative practitioners working in theatre and dance. This might include physical theatre/circus, live art or interdisciplinary performance.
• Applicants will need to demonstrate a professional track record, provided through a written statement or CV/biog.
• Creative Scotland Regularly Funded Organisations are eligible to submit an application for a member of their staff. If doing so, this should be highlighted to their Lead Officer and in the application.
*Please note that you may only apply to attend either ISPA or IETM and not to attend both.
SELECTION PROCESS
The selection will be made by a panel comprised of specialism staff from Creative Scotland and the Federation of Scottish Theatre. These funds are competitive which means not all applications that meet the criteria will be funded.
