Framework Theatre Company are looking for four emerging directors who are women, non-binary people and people from other marginalised genders to each direct a 15-minute short play at the Traverse Theatre this May.
They are presenting Louder: A Project for New Writers in May 2024. This project is the sequel to Home, their 2021 project delivered in association with Vanishing Point.
This series of work is specifically designed to support emerging artists of marginalised genders (women, non-binary, trans or another marginalised gender) to take the next step in their careers. They are currently commissioning four new 15-minute plays inspired by the theme Louder. They are now looking for four emerging directors of marginalised genders to help bring these plays to life.
These directors will be supported by Caitlin Skinner (Stellar Quines; Jordan & Skinner) to prepare and work on the scripts. Directors will get to help cast, rehearse, and tech their show. The work will then be performed in a showcase at the Traverse Theatre. The performers and writers will also be emerging artists.
This project is presented with support from Vanishing Point Theatre Company, the Royal Lyceum Theatre and Stellar Quines. Louder: A Project for New Writers is funded by the National Lottery via Creative Scotland.
