Imaginate invite artists & companies to apply for their new project Creative Encounters, a collaboration with children from North West Edinburgh to co-create new theatre/dance performances for young audiences
Imaginate, in partnership with North Edinburgh Arts, is delighted to be working with children from North West Edinburgh to commission an artist(s)/company, based in Scotland, to make a brand new piece of theatre or dance for young audiences. This new commission will be presented locally in North West Edinburgh and at our Festival Family Encounters, which will take place in the National Museum of Scotland on Sat 27 May 2023.
The new work will need to be suitable for a busy public space, for example: pop-up performances, walkabouts, or interactive pieces. Whatever your idea, it must involve a process of collaboration with children and young people in its development and/or execution.
This commission is part of Creative Encounters, a rights-based project which seeks to place children and young people at the centre of decision-making processes in the creation of new performances for young audiences. This commission is for year one of the project.
