Impact Arts: Creative Self-Employment Training Programme

Are you a creative living in North Lanarkshire, currently unemployed and looking to set up as self-employed to pursue your creative practice? Then Create Thrive Enterprise is for you!

Join Impact Arts for Create Thrive Enterprise, a new training programme for currently unemployed creatives living in North Lanarkshire looking to begin their freelance career.

Dates: 7 January – 28 March 2025 inclusive

Days: Two days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday), with two-week full-time work placement at the end

Venues: Airdrie Town Hall

Participants will gain an SCQF Level 4 and be supported 1-1 by a mentor and the programme coordinator to help them on their way to becoming a freelancer in the creative industries.

During the two training days per week, participants will benefit from tailored training equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to work as a creative freelancer. They will receive 1-1 mentoring from an established creative, and at the end of the programme complete two weeks of paid work experience in an organisation that matches their interests. Participants will also receive a grant at the end of the programme, helping them to purchase equipment or attend further relevant training.

Eligibility

To take part in this programme you must be:
• An adult of working age
• Currently unemployed
• Living in a North Lanarkshire postcode
• Be at an early stage of developing your creative practice
• Not currently enrolled in education
• Excited about the opportunity to begin your creative career
