Closing date: Tue 20 Jan 2026: 7:00PM

A 10 week community theatre project where anyone with an interest in writing or acting can work with professional theatre makers to bring their stories to the stage.

Untold Stories: Tales from the Town is a 10 week community theatre project led by Live Borders Arts & Creativity and Heart of Hawick where anyone with an interest in writing or acting can work with professional theatre makers to bring their stories to the stage.

The project focuses on expanding the untold stories of some of Hawick’s most iconic buildings and their past, present and future inhabitants. Staff from Live Borders Museums, Galleries and Archives including The Heritage Hub and Borders Textile Towerhouse will be joined by a local historian to spark creative ideas for writers to respond to. They will then be working with local theatre legends Ellie Zeegan and Clare Prenton to develop these ideas into performances ready for the stage.

Over the 10 weeks people will be encouraged and supported to develop their script writing or learn the basics of acting on the stage. The project will culminate with a performance in the Heart of Hawick which will be open to the public.
