Imaginate are looking for a diverse range of professionals based in Scotland who have an interest in programming and curating theatre and/or dance performances for young audiences, to take part in a hosted day at the 2024 Edinburgh International Children’s Festival.
New Curators will offer an intimate experience for a group of up to six people to attend three productions on Mon 27 May 2024, hosted by Festival Director Noel Jordan. After attending the performances, the group will have time to talk about their responses to the work, discuss programming logistics and key considerations when putting an overall Festival programme together.
This opportunity is aimed at performing arts individuals who have experience in the young audience sector and want to learn more about the skills required to become a Programmer or Curator.
They are keen to see applications from a more diverse range of people working in the theatre and dance sector for young people. They have some budget to support applications from artists who may face barriers to working in this sector, including providing BSL, a taxi if walking is not practical or cost of childcare. Selected artists will receive:
- Tickets to three productions at the 2024 Edinburgh International Children’s Festival.
- Time for group discussion – they anticipate five – six individuals will be selected.
- A fully paid day rate for your time.
- A meal allowance and public transport costs outwith Edinburgh.
- Accommodation if required for one night.
