The North East Cultural Collective wish to commission two creative practitioners, to join their NECC partnership project with The Foyer (Trinity Court).
Based at The Foyer’s Trinity Court housing facility, the project has been developed in response to an identified need to support young people, with experience of homelessness, by creating safe spaces for them to meet and connect with other young people and also meet with workers from various support services.
They are looking to commission two creative practitioners who have an interest and experience in creative engagement and co-design. The concept of what are and creating a safe space is very open and can refer to existing physical spaces, as well as reimagining outdoor/indoor spaces. How these spaces become safe will be part of the creative process with the staff and residents. Though there is possibly a need for some design and visual art requirements for the project, we are open to applications from practitioners from any creative practice, who feel they have the experience to be part of this creative project team.
It is expected that this project will require a commitment of between seven and nine hours a week for the life of the project (August 2023 – March 2024). This will include time for planning, training, evaluation, meetings with partners, and NECC and national Culture Collective network meetings.
Fees based on the recommended Scottish Artists Union Residency Rates will be £22 p/hr
Deadline for Applications: Mon 31 July 2023, 12 noon.
Interviews: Fri 4 August 2023 in person at The Foyer (Trinity Court)
