Performance Collective Stranraer: Call for Artists for Residential Lab

Closing date: Mon 25 Jul 2022: 12am

Performance Collective Stranraer are inviting artists from all creative backgrounds to apply for their fifth residential development lab.

Are you passionate about performing, directing, writing, music, filmmaking, or something else creatively inclined? Are you a young artist (age 16-30) from Dumfries & Galloway and Ayrshire or do you live there currently?

WHAT WE ARE OFFERING:
Performance Collective Stranraer are inviting artists from all creative backgrounds to apply for their fifth residential development lab. This will take place from Thu 18 August – Sun 21 August 2022 in Wigtown, Dumfries and Galloway.

The lab involves bringing young artists together for a workshop weekend of creative training and development. Artists will delve into various creative styles and practices, gain new skills, and explore their own talents. The weekend also provides an opportunity for artists to share and workshop their own ideas for future productions while collaborating with each other.

The labs are run by PCS Artistic Director, Sarah Rose Graber, and two of Scotland’s leading theatre artists, Drew Taylor-Wilson and Fraser MacLeod.

The Labs cost nothing to the participants. You are provided travel, accommodation, and food free of charge. Though we aim to ensure artists arrive by car, we can also provide route and travel information for those using public transport.

WHO CAN APPLY?
Performance Collective Stranraer is calling out for artists between the ages of 16-30 from Dumfries & Galloway and Ayrshire or those with a connection to the region. This lab is for artists from any creative background, whether theatre, dance, poetry, writing, music, or directing.

HOW TO APPLY:
To submit for this opportunity, please provide:
– A short statement under 200 words on your interest in the lab and why you would benefit from it.
– Evidence of your passion for the creative arts (eg a CV, a video or written testimony, photographic documentation, an autobiographical poem etc)

Please email applications to Artistic Director, Sarah Rose Graber at sarahrose@performancecollectivestranraer.com.
