Step into the future of performance! This pioneering programme explores how Digital Innovation and Artificial Intelligence are reshaping theatre, dance, music, and live performance.
Split Screen brings together some of Scotland’s most talented artists, creative organisations, and digital experts to explore how technology can open up fresh ways of making and sharing performance. Whether you’re an artist, performer, technician, educator, or creative producer, Split Screen empowers you to experiment, innovate, and tell stories in entirely new ways.
KEY INFORMATION:
• Duration: Five days – selected participants must be able to attend all sessions.
• Dates: 15 & 29 January and 5, 24 & 25 February 2026.
• Location: Glasgow, venue TBC.
• 20 participant places available.
• £500 will be paid to each participant to contribute towards travel & time.
• Applications close at 12 noon, Mon 15 December 2025.
The programme features three full training days where participants will encounter cutting-edge uses of technology in the performing arts, gain hands-on technical skills with guidance from our experts, and learn practical frameworks for embedding innovation into their core practice. Each training day concludes with a public artist showcase (attendance optional), followed by Q&A and networking.
During the two day sprint, participants will work in teams to apply what they’ve learned, designing and producing a short piece or prototype with mentorship and technical support from the Split Screen team.

PLAY – 29 January 2026, 9am – 5pm
Experiment and play with Digital and AI tools for theatre, choreography, music composition, and scenography.
Artist Showcase: Maria Sappho (18:00 – 20:00)
AMPLIFY – 5 February 2026, 9am – 5pm
Discover routes to market and channels of distribution.
Artist Showcase: TBC (18:00 – 20:00)
TWO DAY SPRINT – 24 & 25 February 2026, 9am – 5pm
Participants are set a task to design and produce a short performance or prototype that integrates digital innovation, with mentorship and technical support.
