The Scottish Graduate School for Arts & Humanities (SGSAH) organises internships and artist residencies for PhD researchers to spend up to three months at a partner host organisation, enabling them to enhance their research skills in a wide variety of contexts. These exciting opportunities give the chance to make a difference to an organisation, whilst developing skills, networks and CV to take them to the next stage of their career.
If you are an organisation who would be interested in having a PhD researcher come to work with you for up to three months FTE as an intern, paid by SGSAH, in 2025, please complete the form linked here https://sgsah.smapply.io/prog/internshipproposal/ by 5pm, 25 September 2024.
Projects can be worked full time, part time or flexibly in blocks. They will pay the researcher the equivalent of an UKRI stipend rate for the duration of your internship or residency and can help with travel and accommodation costs if these aren’t funded by the host organisation. The programme is open to arts and humanities PhD students in Scotland, regardless of funding source.
They will review and get back to you as necessary, then advertise approved opportunities to the researchers this autumn with details of how they can apply. After the closing date, you can then review any applications you receive for your role, shortlist and interview. They are envisaging placements commencing from January 2025 but this can be flexible.
