Starcatchers would like to invite artists who are interested in working with early years audiences and their families, to attend a playday in Wester Hailes in Edinburgh, with a view to joining their team of freelancers. They are looking for artists to join our team of inspiring practitioners, primarily working in Wester Hailes on Saturdays, but also in Fife and other locations across Scotland.
They work with artists who want to push the barriers of what work for this age group can be. Working with specialist artists, they produce beautiful and inspiring performances and experiences for very young children aged birth – 5 years old. They believe that young children have the right to access innovative, inspirational, high quality creative experiences.

Starcatchers Baby Studio, Westside Plaza, Wester Hailes, Edinburgh
This opportunity is open to applicants with an artistic practice who are interested in working with early years. The Playday will enable you to meet Starcatchers staff and artists and introduce what they do, as well as an opportunity to talk about what inspires you, and to spend some time with their participants.
The day will comprise of:
• Introductions
• Early years development session
• Time to explore ideas with babies.
There will be a fee of £150, payable on receipt of an invoice. Travel and childcare bursaries are available.

If places are oversubscribed, artists will be selected by a panel of Starcatchers artists currently working in the community.
All artists who work with Starcatchers will be required to join the PVG Scheme before being offered work with children.
