Summerhall Arts Spaces offers artists 30 weeks of free space annually, advertised in instalments, to support creative experimentation and development in a welcoming environment.

Summerhall Arts Spaces offers artists of all experience levels the opportunity to develop ideas, experiment with form and explore new directions in a supportive environment within Summerhall. Over the course of a year, they will offer 20 weeks of paid space and 30 weeks of free space, advertised in instalments.

This application is for their Free Space, which includes:

• A dedicated creative space in the Anatomy Lecture Theatre for up to five days.
• If Tech Cube Zero is a more suitable space for your work, you may request to use it instead of the Anatomy Lecture Theatre. Decisions will be made based on availability.
• Venue specifications available on request.

This opportunity is ideal for those at the very early stages of exploration, needing room to test ideas without formal deadlines or structure. Space will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Additional Information:
• No tech support is provided as part of this residency.
• Artists must sign an agreement acknowledging our code of conduct, which includes taking care of the space.
