The Gaiety Theatre are looking for a creative facilitator who will establish a sustainable and exciting after-schools programme aimed at improving opportunities for children and young people in Ayr North.
P/T Post 2 – Creative Engagement Facilitator Lead Ayr North Project
Salary: £25,000 per annum (£5460 pro rata for 7.5 hours per week)
This is a three-year funded post (they hope to extend this post after the three years)
An opportunity for the right person to work in an ever-changing and exciting creative environment. They are looking for a creative facilitator who will establish a sustainable and exciting after school’s programme aimed at improving opportunities for children and young people in Ayr North.
You will work with P6 aged pupils and members of the community and allow them to create, plan and lead drama classes for younger students, fostering peer-to-peer education. And to create a lasting drama resource to be used by community groups across Ayrshire and further. The project will provide a safe, creative, and engaging after-school space where young people can take part in a variety of creative classes.
This will be a Youth lead project and they are looking for someone who has experience of facilitating this type of work.
You will also spend part of your week in our Creative Engagement hub bringing the young people’s ideas together and developing the drama resource alongside the Creative Engagement team, their Youth board and community representatives.
This is a new role and there will the chance for you to develop it and create lots of new ideas. They are keen to hear from people who would love to be part of this environment and want to help achieve our goals of engaging younger audiences, inspiring creativity, reducing isolation and loneliness and improving mental health and life aspirations.
