The programme offers six months of free multidisciplinary theatre training and is open to people aged 18-30 from across the UK. The programme is aimed at those who are passionate about pursuing a career as a theatre maker but who haven’t accessed formal training or degree level study before. They also prioritise people from the global majority, care-experienced people, carers, disabled people, neurodivergent people, people from working class backgrounds and people from the LGBTQIA+ community.
This six-month programme includes:
– A welcome day
– 14 masterclass sessions led by OV Theatre Makers Director Joseph Hancock and guest practitioners from a range of theatre disciplines such as writing, directing and producing. Previous guests include poet and playwright Inua Ellams, director Lyndsey Turner and writer, director and dramaturg Daniel Bailey.
– Access to their brand new Backstage building
– An opportunity to present your work at a Scratch Night in the Studio at The Old Vic
– Tickets to Old Vic productions
– A theatre ticket allowance for other venues
– Support with travel if required.
